Summer 2022 Review
Summer 2022 was so full of life changes, travel, and newness that if I don’t take the time to reflect on the parts I loved most, I fear the memories will fade into a blur of ocean waves, air travel, and lobster rolls. So here are a few of my favorite things I experienced this summer.
The Idol of Authenticity
I see the word ‘authenticity’ tossed around everywhere, on podcasts, in marketing meetings, on social media. On the surface, our deep desire for authenticity appears to be a good thing, but the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve felt that it locks us into a rigid view of who we are and ultimately denies us the ability to be all we can be.
Finding Our Footing
In the last 2 months we’ve visited another country, relocated to a new state, learned we were pregnant, lost that pregnancy. It’s been a time of highs and lows, and on our 2nd anniversary I consider what all it’s taught me about love and marriage.

Turkey Sandwiches
In case you didn’t know, February is Eating Disorder Awareness Month. This is a topic that I, as someone who has struggled with disordered eating for over 15 years, am passionate about. There’s a lot of stigma over what living with disordered eating means, so I decided to tell my story.
6 Lessons in 6 Months
It’s been six months since I started my position as the social media manager of a small liberal arts college. In that time, as I’ve learned the nuances of social media and higher ed communications, I’ve learned a fair amount about myself too.
Wisdom Below Zero
The first time I read Katherine May’s “Wintering,” I needed to know that all winters come to an end. This time, I realized that I need to learn how to weather the winters.

As the year wraps up, it’s time to share my favorite books from 2021! Welcome into my library, filled with fantastical adventures and deep thoughts. Maybe you’ll find a few titles you want to read as well.
This Season of Waiting
The season of Advent marks the waiting on the coming of a Messiah, and for me, is helping me find peace as my husband and I continue to wait on and hope for a child of our own someday.
Beauty and Being Thankful
Over the last year, I turned my natural tendency to see the beauty in life into a daily practice, and it’s illuminated how much has changed in the last year, particularly for the better.
To Love and to Cherish
Over a year after we got married, we finally brought our family and friends together for a weekend I’ll never forget. The experience reminded me of some key truths about love and marriage.
Courage, Dear Heart
Since childhood, I’ve seen myself in the character of C. S. Lewis’ Lucy. More than that, the relationship Lucy has with the lion Aslan helped shape my own relationship with Christ.
3 Things COVID Life Gave Me

Happily Ever After
As our first anniversary approaches, I reflect on what I’ve learned about the nature of our love, and just how the fairytales were right and real after all.
